Heat Control

The glass for more light and warmth

Environment and climate-friendly construction is receiving increasingly greater attention these days – if it is not already a de facto component or even a legal requirement in construction projects in many parts of Europe and the rest of the world. In addition to the use of sustainable building materials and regenerative heating systems, the façade design and the glazing used, in particular, play an important part in making buildings energy-efficient. Our highly insulating glass is the key to energy savings at the highest level. Our glasses are available in the versions N10 and N34. With a U-value of up to 1.0 W/m²K, these insulating glasses are among the best available on the market.

The production of our Low-E coatings is carried out by the high-performance cathode sputtering process in vacuum. Noble gas ions are accelerated and „fired" at noble metal targets. The dislodged atoms condense as a layer of material on the glass. The individual layers are applied atom by atom in this way.

Our heat control glasses offer an optimal solution for every requirement. Depending on the objectives and technical feasibility, double or triple glazing is used. We will be happy to advise you personally on the planning of your thermal insulation glazing.

Function & properties:

The heat-insulating property of the insulating glass is optimized by the precious metal coatings on the glass surface. To prevent such coatings of elemental silver from appearing like a mirror in visible light, they are hidden in a cleverly devised "layer packing" in such a way that our eye can hardly perceive them. The coatings are designed to combine maximum thermal insulation (low Ug-value) with high values for solar gain (g-Value) and daylight utilization (light transmission). These layers are highly reflective and have low emittance (low-e) in the long-wave IR range and thereby reduce heat losses. While N34 impresses with a very high light transmission (82%) and a high total energy transmittance (65%), the Ug-value in the standard construction of 1.1 W/m2K is slightly higher than that of N10. The lower value of 1.0 W/m2K is accompanied by a light transmission of 70% and a g-value of 50%.
